I got out of the Marines after 12 years much to the dismay of a lot of people in Boise Idaho and those around me. Family and friends were all telling me to stay in and how stupid I was to get out because of the mess that’s going on in this economy. The joblessness is I heard anywhere from 9-20% depending on who you ask on different days of the week.
Use the Internet
The bottom line is that there are numerous opportunities out there and it’s just a matter of looking in the right places for them, having and open mind, and perhaps being a little creative. I live in Carlsbad, CA and on every block there is basically another online Search Engine Optimization or SEO company to work for. They sell SEO products to various companies who want to have better search engine rankings. The better the search engine rankings equals more interested customers.
The reason I bring that up is that the internet, as we all know it, has changed a lot of things. Time and location hardly matter to anything online. So what does that have to do with surviving in the economy?
Well I’m sure that you have heard of internet marketing which is what all of those SEO companies sell for big profits to other companies. So whatever your personal business taking it online can increase your clients, customers, prospects, and etc exponentially. The main problem would be to get enough people to see your website or blog with your particular product or service.
That problem can be solved by simply writing articles, very similar to this one, about your personal products, services, or business. You can also get hired by someone to lazy to write their own articles or you can hire someone to write your own articles. Either which way it is all based around the same concept of creating a presence on the internet.
Why would you need a presence on the internet?
The more of a presence you have on the internet is the more chances for your personal brand, business, or services to be seen. The more people see you equals the more will eventually purchase from you. Creating that web presence can be that key you need to benefit and start creating extra income for yourself even in this down turned economy.
The richest people in history have benefited from the down economy and there is no reason why you couldn’t do the same things. Writing articles, posting videos to YouTube, creating a website or a blog, and last but not least incorporating everything within social media. Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn are three major social media and sharing platforms to increase exposure and a generate more leads or business.
